Giuseppe Stampone’s theorization on what is defined as “Architetture Intelligenza”, a meta-project uniting the mind, body and space. Physical spaces in which images, objects, video, sound and interactive installations are interconnected through a conceptual map which generates a total emotional experience. Giuseppe Stampone stimulates the viewer to reflect on the relationship between reality, iconic representation and logical connection, through a seductive evocation of faces and familiar objects.
The artist creates faithful reproductions of these, but distorts their original function to use them for his own artistic research in an attempt to dominate and reinterpret reality according to a new order. STUDIO VISIT is a project by Giuseppe Stampone focused on the emotional reconstruction of the studio-archive of Ugo La Pietra. Starting from key elements that Stampone identifies through interviews with Ugo La Pietra, the artist re-elaborates and constructs a psycho-physical map of the studio, tracing the development of the man/artist’s artistic research. Stampone transposes the idea of memory of urban space into a private space. When exhibited in the fair, this space becomes public again, following the radical artistic architectonic idea of La Pietra as demonstrated in the 1979 Milan Triennale with his work INTERNO/ESTERNO, in which he brought interior furnishing into an external architectural environment. A work within a work, the result of a complex research project which plays on a series of recollections and citations which are dispersed in an infinite play of reuse and hybridisation of both the artists’ works.
